Crooked Paths
By: Jeffrey E. Pollock
Deep inside I cry for mercy,
And know my Father hears my prayers;
I go to God when I'm hungry and thirsty,
To provide for my needs because He cares.

Deep inside I think I still depend on myself,
But know that my Savior has forgiven my pride;
He gave up Himself on a cross to save me from Hell,
And lead me out of this self-centered darkness of mine.

Deep inside I call out His name,
And know God's Holy Spirit guides me in truth;
I believe He carries me through this darkened maze,
And will bring me to Himself when my lifetime is through.

Deep inside I search for His light,
And know my Lord Jesus will show me the way;
God is glorified through faith by those who love Christ,
And trust He straightens out the crooked paths we take.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding...
Proverbs 3:5
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
