There Is Hope
By: Jeffrey E. Pollock
"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." (John 3:3)
How much further must we fly?
How much farther must we run?
How many rote prayers will we say,
Till we trust in God to whom we pray?
How much higher must we climb?
How much holier must we become?
How many wasted tears will we cry,
Till we learn why Jesus came to die?
How much braver must we really be?
How much brighter must our light become?
How many lost souls will we watch perish,
Till we choose to obey the Lord we cherish?
How much deeper must we sink?
How much darker must the world get?
How many needless deaths will we mourn,
Till we believe there is hope when we are reborn?
You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' (John 3:7)
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. (1 Peter 1:23)
"Oh that I were as in months past." (Job 29:2)
